 The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Science ECT to join a rapidly improving secondary school and take the first steps in their teaching career. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging Science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, fostering curiosity and a love for scientific inquiry. Whether your specialism is Physics, Chemistry, or Biology, you will have access to modern facilities and strong departmental support to develop your confidence in the classroom.
 
The Candidate
The school is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Science ECT with strong subject knowledge and a commitment to student success. You should have the ability to plan creative and engaging lessons, communicate complex scientific concepts clearly, and inspire students of all abilities. A willingness to reflect, improve, and contribute to the Science department’s growth is essential.

  • Assigned mentor: Regular feedback, guidance, and one-on-one support from an experienced teacher.
  • Observation and feedback sessions: Structured classroom observations with detailed feedback from your mentor and school leadership.
  • Personalised development plan: Tailored support based on your strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Professional development opportunities: Workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance your teaching skills.
  • Workload management strategies: Guidance on lesson planning, marking, and time management.
  • Regular reflection and self-assessment: Opportunities to review and refine your teaching practice.
