Job Summary As Project Manager you will be accountable for the delivery of projects, identifying revenue opportunities, and effectively managing contractual relationships.
The ability to influence through persuasion and building strong relationships both internally and externally is essential to success in this role.
You will be responsible for managing complex diverse material handling projects and for ensuring that detailed project plans are established and aligned to agreed budgets.
You will be responsible for managing the project against your project plan and regularly reporting progress and results.
It is advantageous that the Project manager has the skill to technically challenge statement and decisions made by their teams and the customer.
Roles and Responsibilities- Attending and documenting regular customer meetings.
- Actioning all responsibilities agreed at regular customer meetings.
- Chairing, attending, and documenting regular meetings with internal departments.
- Managing and actioning all Project responsibilities agreed at regular internal meetings.
- Producing, managing, and updating comprehensive Microsoft Project timing plans.
- Managing project budgets to ensure that as-sold margins are achieved as a minimum.
- Managing customer invoice milestones.
- Managing project variations/scope revisions.
- Regular project reports to Senior Management.
- Delegate appropriate project tasks to Project Engineers.
- Ensuring that all projects are carried out using the Project Department Processes and standard documentation.
- Being responsible for selection and management of sub-contract suppliers where required.
- Regularly attending customer sites for meetings.
- Regularly attending customer sites during installation, commissioning & buy off stages.
- Ensuring that all projects are carried out in accordance with TSUK safety and environmental accreditation.
Qualifications/Attributes- Sound technical knowledge.
- Possess and demonstrate a positive “Lead by Example” attitude.
- Flexible approach to working hours/patterns.
- Mechanical Engineering HNC qualifications.
- Electrical Engineering qualifications are not essential but would be useful on certain projects.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing material handling or conveyance projects.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent literacy and report writing skills.
- Well organised.
- Have a keen attention to detail.
