Senior Commissioning Manager, Substance Misuse, East London 
Pay rate – c. £500 per day 
Contract role - Adult Social Care 
 
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Commissioning Manager in East London. 
Please note – it is essential that you have Local Authority Commissioning experience for this role.   
 
The Substance Misuse Commissioning Team has a vacancy in its lead role, and is currently tasked with a substantial re-commissioning of our main Treatment, Recovery and Outreach contracts, alongside "business as usual" work to improve our system.  
We are seeking an experienced Substance Misuse Commissioner to support leadership of the overall team and to provide capacity for both (a) immediate system management and improvement and (b) service redesign, re-modelling and preparations for procurement.  
A high-level model for the new services was agreed by Cabinet. Details of this model need to be finalised, the market engaged, and preparations made for procurement. This will involve rapidly engaging stakeholders, defining requirements, and leading work to finalise a model and develop service specification and wider tender documents.  
The role will work closely with existing staff and alongside them will play a senior leadership role with responsibility for either immediate-term service leadership, management, system improvement; or for designing and delivering the new model for procurement.  
This is a fixed term appointment, likely for 3 months in the first instance. We require someone with substantial, senior experience in substance misuse commissioning, complex system design, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership.
