Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary SEMH
Location: North Kent
Start Date: ASAP / Ongoing
Contract: Full-time (term-time)
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient
SEN Teaching Assistant to support
primary-aged pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs) across specialist and alternative provision settings in the North Kent area.
The Role:- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour management and engagement in learning
- Implement behaviour plans and positive intervention strategies
- Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
Requirements:- Experience working with primary-aged children with SEMH needs
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Background in PRU, alternative provision, SEN schools or youth work desirable
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
