Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – SEN Location: North Kent
Start Date: ASAP / Ongoing
Contract: Full-time / Part-time (Term Time)
Pay: Competitive – dependent on experience
The Role We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support children and young people with special educational needs across specialist and mainstream SEN provisions in the North Kent area.
You will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of needs, helping them to access education, develop independence and achieve their individual learning goals.
Student Needs May Include
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC / ASD)
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)
  • ADHD
  • PMLD / SLD
  • Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Complex needs and challenging behaviour
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group SEN support
  • Support pupils in line with EHCPs, IEPs and behaviour plans
  • Assist with differentiated learning activities and interventions
  • Promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour and engagement
  • Support with personal care where required (training provided)
  • Encourage independence, communication and social skills
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Background as an LSA, SEN TA, Support Worker or Care Worker (desirable)
  • Understanding of ASD, SEMH and complex needs
  • Calm, patient, resilient and empathetic approach
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
