Rate: £220 – £270 per day (DOE)

Are you passionate about empowering children and young people with SEND and their families? Our client in Hertfordshire is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate SENDIAS Advisor to join their dynamic team and support the delivery of impartial, confidential, and accurate advice under the SEND Code of Practice.
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality information, advice, and support to parents, carers, and young people regarding SEND processes, including EHCPs, mediation, and tribunals.
• Ensure that service users understand their rights and are empowered to make informed decisions.
• Work in partnership with schools, the local authority, and other services to support positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
• Keep accurate case notes, manage a personal caseload, and meet service deadlines.
• Stay current with SEND legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience working within SENDIAS or a similar advice/support service.
• In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation including the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
• Excellent communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and work flexibly.

Desirable:

• Experience supporting families through EHCP applications, reviews, appeals, and tribunals.
• Knowledge of local services and support available in Hertfordshire.
