Community Adaptations Officer to help tackle a growing backlog of service users awaiting essential equipment and minor home adaptations for a local authority in North London.
Due to increasing demand, the local authority are implementing a focused project to reduce delays and ensure timely support for residents in need. This temporary role has been created specifically to expedite assessments and the delivery of minor adaptations—ultimately improving outcomes and enhancing service delivery across the borough.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out timely assessments for minor home adaptations and equipment needs.
- Liaise with Occupational Therapists, contractors, and service users to coordinate and implement adaptation works.
- Support the reduction of the current waiting list for essential adaptations.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and contribute to service efficiency improvements.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a social care or housing adaptations setting.
- Good knowledge of minor adaptations and equipment provision.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage caseloads and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
