£180–£190 per day

Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Mediation Co-Ordinator to join Cheshire West and Chester on a full-time basis.
This position will involve managing all mediations for the Local Authority, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met in relation to SEND appeals and mediation processes.
You will:- Provide case management of mediation and SEN appeal related cases
- Ensure the Council discharges its duties effectively in relation to statutory appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal (SENDIST)
- Work directly with parents, schools, mediation services and partner agencies within the statutory and legal SEND framework
- Build and maintain effective relationships with education providers and other services to secure positive outcomes for children and young people
- Support the Local Authority in limiting exposure to risk of tribunal appeals
Essential Experience- Relevant experience working with children and families
- Experience supporting children with disabilities and/or learning disabilities
- Experience working with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Experience working with families open to Local Authority services
- Strong understanding of SEND statutory processes and tribunal procedures
