SEND Caseworker – LiverpoolLocation: Liverpool
Hours per week: 35 hours per week (Full Time)
Hourly Rate: £40.88 per hour
Working Arrangements: Approx. 2 days per week on site

Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Caseworker to join a local authority in Liverpool. This is a full-time position offering a competitive rate and hybrid working.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Support settings, schools, services and families in applying the graduated approach to meeting the needs of pupils with SEND.
- Co-ordinate the statutory assessment process for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Review and monitor pupil progress against agreed outcomes.
- Support schools and settings in meeting the needs of pupils with SEND by developing strong working relationships and offering advice and guidance to SENCos and Head Teachers.
- Work closely with internal colleagues including SENISS, Occupational Therapy, Educational Psychology and other services, including Children’s and Adult Social Care and Health, to ensure a multi-agency approach to identifying and meeting need.
- Manage the Education, Health and Care (EHC) planning process from assessment through to placement and review for a designated group of schools and settings.
- Ensure all statutory timescales are met in relation to the drafting and issuing of EHC Plans.
- Ensure parents/carers and children and young people are at the centre of all planning and review processes.
- Attend annual reviews for particularly vulnerable pupils, including Looked After Children, Continuing Care cases and pupils at risk of exclusion, where appropriate.
- Promote maintained placements within Liverpool wherever possible and ensure every effort is made to support children and young people within the city.
Person Specification- Recent experience working within an educational or Children’s Services environment, ideally as a SEND Caseworker or SEND Officer.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience of the Children and Families Act 2014 and associated legislation, including SEND Tribunal (SENDIST) regulations.
