Wolverhampton City Council is seeking an experienced and HCPC-registered
Educational Psychologist to join their service on a locum basis. This is a long-term assignment offering stability, guaranteed work each month, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children and young people across the city.
The successful candidate will undertake
statutory assessments, deliver high-quality psychological advice for EHCP processes, and work closely with schools, families, and multi-agency partners to support positive educational outcomes.
Role Overview- Deliver statutory psychological assessments (including EHCNAs) in line with SEND legislation.
- Provide clear, evidence-based written advice for Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments.
- Visit schools and settings across Wolverhampton to complete face-to-face assessments (driving required).
- Work collaboratively with families, SENCOs, teachers, and partner professionals.
- Promote inclusive practice and support improved outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
- Maintain high-quality case records and meet statutory deadlines.
- Manage your caseload independently while meeting service priorities.
Requirements- HCPC registration as an Educational Psychologist.
- Significant experience working within a local authority or similar educational psychology setting.
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation, statutory assessments, and best practice guidance.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and professional report-writing skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload efficiently.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel across Wolverhampton is essential).
