Occupational Therapist – Adults Reablement Team Southampton
Location: Southampton Rate of pay: £26.63 per hour
Working Arrangements: Hybrid
Hours per week: 37 hours per wee
Contract type: Short-term, with the potential for extension.
Job Summary: Pertemps is seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Adults Reablement Team at Southampton City Council on a short-term contract. This hybrid position will involve providing high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy services to adults with care and support needs. Your role will focus on helping individuals regain or maintain independence, promoting their well-being and daily living skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct assessments, care planning, and reviews to encourage personal independence and improve daily living skills.
- Provide advice, support, and teaching to individuals and their carers, helping them overcome disability and maximize their independence.
- Recommend and provide standard and specialist equipment, as well as offer guidance on home adaptations.
- Collaborate with colleagues in health, social care, and partner agencies to deliver coordinated, multi-disciplinary support.
- Supervise and support Occupational Therapy Assistants and students as needed.
- Maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, professional standards, and Council policies.
- Uphold safeguarding procedures and the Council’s Equality Policy.
Essential Requirements:- Diploma or BSc in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent, recognised by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists, WFOT).
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Previous experience in a health or social care community setting.
- Ability to manage a demanding and often unpredictable caseload, with effective prioritization.
- Strong communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel within Southampton to meet clients in their homes and other community settings.
