Occupational Therapist – Adults Social Care
Location: Wolverhampton
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £28.40 per hour
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Wolverhampton Council to recruit an experienced
Occupational Therapist to join their
Adults Social Care team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled OT to make a meaningful impact, supporting residents to maintain their independence and quality of life within their homes and communities.
Role Overview: As an Occupational Therapist within the Adults Social Care service, you will carry out comprehensive assessments of individuals’ functional abilities and needs. You will provide recommendations for a range of
aids, adaptations, and interventions to support independence, safety, and wellbeing.
You will work collaboratively with service users, families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams to identify appropriate solutions — including the
planning and prescribing of major adaptations to homes under the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) process.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake holistic functional assessments for adults with physical disabilities or long-term health conditions.
- Prescribe and recommend both minor and major adaptations to promote independence and safety.
- Work closely with surveyors, contractors, and social workers to implement adaptation plans.
- Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and reports as required.
- Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with local authority and HCPC standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and supervision sessions.
Requirements: ✅ Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
✅ Current registration with
HCPC ✅ Experience in
aids, equipment, and adaptations (essential)
✅ Proven experience in
planning and prescribing major home adaptations ✅ Strong communication and assessment skills
✅ Ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively in a hybrid environment
