Full-time, ongoing contract Pertemps are recruiting a dedicated and proactive
Personal Advisor to join Peterborough’s Leaving Care Team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people as they transition into adulthood.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a caseload of care leavers in line with legislation, policy and departmental procedures.
- Assessing needs and providing tailored support and interventions to promote independence.
- Supporting young people to attend appointments, manage finances, and plan their accommodation and budgets.
- Building strong partnerships with families, agencies, and institutions (e.g. councils, hospitals, custodial units).
- Visiting young people at home and in the community, ensuring consistent and meaningful engagement.
- Maintaining accurate records, assessments, and reports for reviews, planning meetings, and case conferences.
- Upholding safeguarding principles and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all young people.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience supporting vulnerable young people and/or care leavers.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding practices and relevant legislation (Children Act Guidance, Planning Transitions to Adulthood for Care Leavers).
- Excellent organisational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
- Flexibility to work outside core hours when required (TOIL policy applies; weekends rarely required).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-agency team.
