Job Description
Location: Riverside, 4 Canning Road, Lowestoft, NR33 0EQ
Working Arrangements: Hybrid Working - Full time hours
Rate: £35 per hour (umbrella)
We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join Suffolk Council on a locum basis, with a strong focus on manual handling.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Local to Lowestoft or able to commute daily
- Experienced to Band 6 (or equivalent) level
- Background in local authority preferred (NHS experience also considered)
- Confident in delivering safe and effective manual handling practice
- Delivering safe, timely, and effective front-line OT services within the directorate
- Supporting triage and reducing duplication between health and social care to help manage OT waiting lists
- Advising and supporting external care providers with safe moving and handling tasks
- Reviewing care packages to ensure cost-effective service delivery and appropriate equipment use
- Reviewing double-handed care packages and making recommendations
- Providing mutual aid across other OT teams when required
- Carrying out comprehensive OT assessments and reviews
