About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced SEND Officer to join the Assessment Team at Derbyshire County Council, supporting children and young people aged 0–25 years. This is a fully remote opportunity, offering flexibility while making a direct impact on the lives of children, young people, and their families.
As a SEND Officer, you will play a key role in removing barriers to learning and ensuring children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) receive the right support to prepare for adulthood.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hold and manage a caseload within the 0–25 assessment team.
• Undertake assessments, provide advice, and develop outcome-focused plans.
• Offer guidance and support to children, young people, and their families.
• Work collaboratively as part of the SEND team, ensuring needs are met in an integrated and sustainable way.
• Broker support from specialist services where required.
• Use IDOX Hub (experience preferred).

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in a SEND Officer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, assessments, and planning.
• Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
• Experience of IDOX Hub is highly desirable.
