Pertemps are seeking an experienced and strategic Service Manager of SEN to join West Berkshire Council on a hybrid working basis.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading, developing, and implementing strategies and initiatives that promote inclusive education and ensure the provision of high-quality support for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing strong leadership to the SEN service, driving continuous improvement and positive outcomes.
- Overseeing the delivery of statutory responsibilities in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
- Developing and implementing effective policies, systems, and processes.
- Building strong partnerships with schools, families, and stakeholders to promote inclusion and achievement.
- Leading and managing a team, ensuring professional development and accountability.
- Proven track record in a senior leadership role within SEND.
- Strong knowledge of SEN legislation, statutory duties, and best practice.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to drive service improvement and lead change effectively.
- Strategic thinker with strong operational delivery experience.
- Hybrid working model (flexibility to work remotely and from the West Berkshire office).
- Competitive day rate of £650 per day.
