Occupational Therapist to join the dynamic
Hackney Occupational Therapy and Sensory Service within their Hospital Team. This hybrid role offers the chance to make a real difference in residents’ lives while enjoying the flexibility of part-office, part-community working.
Role Overview You will deliver
outstanding occupational therapy interventions to promote independence in daily living activities, working in a co-productive way to ensure residents have choice and control over their care. This is a varied and rewarding role within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
What We’re Looking For:- HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with experience in adult services
- Clinical Experience: Proven background in hospital or social care settings
- Assessment Skills: Ability to carry out functional assessments and identify needs
- Care Act Knowledge: Skilled in completing Care Act reviews, with a strong understanding of the Care Act 2014
- Legislation Awareness: Knowledge of safeguarding principles, the Mental Capacity Act (MCA), and related frameworks
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with patients, families, and colleagues
- Problem-Solving: Creative approach to tailoring interventions to meet individual needs
- Empathy: Compassionate, person-centred care approach
- Teamwork: Collaborative working within a multidisciplinary environment
- Organisation: Strong time management skills to manage a busy caseload effectively
Key Responsibilities:- Provide holistic OT assessments and interventions to support patient independence
- Carry out Care Act reviews and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
- Work closely with patients, families, and the wider health and social care team
- Use evidence-based practice to develop and deliver tailored care plans
- Support safe discharges from hospital to community settings
