About the role
The Education Network are working with an excellent school in Leeds who are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Workers to join our team. The successful candidate will be an important part in supporting SEMH pupils, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or with challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to meeting the needs of pupils.
Main Duties of the Role
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to SEMH pupils within the Alternative Provision Unit.
  • Support the emotional well-being of pupils, offering guidance and intervention when necessary.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social interactions among pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a holistic support network for each pupil.
  • Assist in the delivery of engaging and inclusive learning activities.
