Are you an experienced and passionate teacher looking to make a genuine difference in a highly supportive, therapeutic SEND environment? Our agency is working in partnership with a specialist provision seeking a flexible and skilled SEN Teacher to deliver temporary teaching cover for pupils from Early Years through to KS3 with complex social communication needs.
You will join a dedicated multi-disciplinary team of LSAs, Speech & Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapists, providing a low-arousal, nurturing and communication-rich environment. The school follows the Equals Curriculum and the SCERTS Framework, and you will play a key role in maintaining a highly structured, therapeutic approach to learning.

The Role
  • Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons for pupils with social communication needs across EYS–KS3.
  • Create a calm, low-arousal classroom environment that supports emotional regulation and communication.
  • Work closely with therapists and support staff to implement SCERTS-based strategies.
  • Contribute to assessment, target-setting, and progress monitoring in line with the Equals curriculum.
  • Lead and inspire a small group of pupils using creative, communication-friendly approaches.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
  • Confidence, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • Experience delivering Early Years / KS1 curriculum, including foundational literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience with the Equals curriculum (advantageous but not essential).
  • A background or strong interest in working with pupils with profound and complex needs, particularly Autism.
  • Excellent spoken and written English, with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience using AAC/symbol-supported communication systems.
  • Strong behaviour-support skills, with the ability to promote positive behaviour in a nurturing way.
  • The ability to lead, motivate and manage a small group of pupils with social communication needs.
  • A patient, resilient and compassionate approach to behaviour that challenges.
Why Join Through Our Agency?
  • Competitive daily rates
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated SEN specialist consultant
  • Opportunities for long-term or repeat placements
  • Free safeguarding and CPD opportunities
If you are a caring, skilled educator who thrives in specialist settings and is ready to make an immediate impact, we would love to hear from you.
