SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Southwark

Role Overview: • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant • Location: Southwark • Start Date: Immediate • Contract: Full-Time / Permanent • Salary: £92 - £100 per day (Dependent on experience)

About You: We are looking for an enthusiastic and patient SEN Teaching Assistant who:

• Has experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated learning needs.
• Is confident in supporting students with communication challenges, sensory needs, and behaviour management.
• Can build positive relationships with students, helping them feel secure and engaged in learning.
• Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
• Has a proactive and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students in a specialist setting.

Your Responsibilities: 

• Support students in developing independence and life skills alongside academic learning.
• • Implement alternative communication methods such as PECS and Makaton to support non-verbal students.
• • Assist in sensory regulation activities to help students manage their emotions and behaviours.
• • Encourage social interaction and engagement through structured play and group activities.
• • Provide a safe, calm, and nurturing environment where students feel supported in their development.
