Role Overview:As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support the English department in delivering high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with an English-based degree who is passionate about education and considering a career in teaching. The successful candidate will work closely with students and teachers, providing tailored support to enhance learning outcomes and foster academic success.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist English teachers in planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them develop literacy skills and confidence in English.
- Support classroom management and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Assist in preparing teaching resources and materials for lessons.
- Help students develop critical thinking and analytical skills, encouraging a love for literature and language.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers to inform planning and interventions.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities, including English clubs or enrichment programs.
Essential Requirements:- A strong academic background with an English-based degree (e.g., English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing).
- A genuine passion for education and a desire to pursue a career in teaching.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to supporting classroom activities.
- Commitment to promoting inclusivity and academic excellence.
Desirable:- A degree from a Russell Group university.
- Previous experience working with young people in a voluntary or paid capacity.
