Facilities Maintenance Operative (Temp to Perm)

Location: Knowsley
Pay Rate: £15.20 per hour
Hours: Monday–Thursday: 08:00–16:30 and Friday: 08:00–13:00, 37 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hands-on Site Maintenance Operative to support the day-to-day upkeep of our client’s facility in Knowsley. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys keeping environments safe, clean, and well maintained.

The Role
You will be responsible for general site maintenance, ensuring the building and surrounding areas remain in good condition. Duties will include painting, basic repairs, cleaning, and reporting any larger technical issues to the relevant teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out interior and exterior painting as required
• Complete minor repairs and touch-ups to walls, floors, doors, and surfaces
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs
• Maintain cleanliness of workspaces, communal areas, and outdoor spaces
• Remove waste and debris to keep areas tidy and organised
• Use tools and equipment safely, ensuring they are properly maintained
• Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment
• Report hazards, defects, or repair requirements promptly
• Monitor stock levels of cleaning and maintenance supplies and assist with reordering
• Keep basic records of completed tasks and work orders

About You

• Previous experience in facilities and building maintenance
• Basic knowledge of painting, cleaning, and minor repairs
• Confident using hand and power tools safely
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks
• Good attention to detail
• Able to work independently and communicate issues clearly
