Job Title: Temporary Post Room Operative

Overview:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of Hammersmith and Fulham Council for a dedicated and organised Post Room Operative. This is a temporary, full-time role requiring an immediate start, ideal for someone with a valid UK manual driving licence and previous experience in a similar position. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the council’s post room and handling mail deliveries across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:
Mail Handling: Sorting, logging, and distributing incoming and outgoing post, ensuring it reaches the correct destinations on time.
Delivery Duties: Driving a council vehicle to deliver and collect mail across various council locations in the borough.
Post Room Operations: Operating franking machines, managing supplies, organising couriers, and ensuring a well-maintained post room.
Customer Service: Providing a high standard of service, assisting with mail-related queries, and liaising with council departments.

Requirements:
Valid UK Manual Driving Licence – essential for this role due to driving responsibilities.
Relevant Experience – experience in post room operations, logistics, or mail handling preferred.
Organisational Skills – able to manage a busy workload, prioritise tasks, and work independently.
Professionalism and Reliability – dependable, punctual, and able to represent the council positively.
