Working hours: Monday - Thursday: 9:00am - 5:30pm Friday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
What does the job entail?We are seeking an organised and IT-literate Legal Support Officer to join Buckinghamshire Council’s Legal Services team. This is a varied, office-based administrative role providing essential support to lawyers across childcare, litigation and wider legal teams.
Working as part of the Legal Support Team, you will deliver high-quality, confidential administrative support in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. This role would suit an experienced administrator or a graduate looking to gain valuable experience within a legal or public sector setting.
You will achieve this by:- Providing day-to-day administrative support to legal professionals
- Printing, scanning, photocopying and collating legal documents
- Preparing and producing court bundles for childcare and litigation teams
- Opening and closing legal files accurately and in line with procedures
- Sealing and signing legal documents (hard copy and electronic)
- Submitting Land Registry requests and managing legal correspondence
- Acting as a first point of contact via telephone and email Maintaining accurate records and handling information confidentially
- Supporting the team with general office duties as required
What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?- Previous administration experience or similar
- Strong IT skills and confidence using computer systems (training provided on Civica)
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Experience within a legal or local authority environment
