Role Overview:The Hygiene Operative is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene standards within the facility are maintained to the highest level, supporting the achievement of food safety, health, safety, and environmental goals. This role contributes to the ESG vision and works across various departments to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.

Role Responsibilities:Core Competencies:- Cleaning Schedules: Operate and maintain effective cleaning schedules in line with operational requirements.
- Internal Audits: Assist in monthly internal GMP audits, ensuring all hygiene practices align with accreditation standards.
- Cleaning Operations: Perform cleaning operations in accordance with established hygiene schedules, ensuring all areas are thoroughly cleaned.
- Shift Briefing: Report to the Team Leader at the start of each shift to receive any special cleaning instructions.
- Hygiene Records: Complete and maintain accurate hygiene records in accordance with company procedures.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure hygiene equipment is well-maintained and report any damage or faults promptly.
- Training: Complete relevant hygiene training as required to stay up-to-date with industry standards and company policies.
- Cross-department Liaison: Collaborate with all departments across the site to ensure hygiene standards are consistently met.
- Pest Control Liaison: Work with the pest control contractor to ensure pest management procedures are followed, including defect rectification, scheduled spraying regimes, and internal pest control activities.
Education & Qualifications:- Manual Handling: Desirable
- Food Safety Qualification: Desirable
- Counterbalance Licence: Desirable
Experience:- Experience: Proven experience in maintaining a clean operating environment, ideally within a fast-paced food manufacturing setting.
- Working to Targets: Experience working to specific hygiene and cleaning targets.
- Food Safety Standards: Familiarity with ISO 9001/BRC, Health & Safety regulations, Food Safety, Hygiene, HACCP, COSHH, and pest control practices.
- Customer Focus: Ability to work collaboratively to meet internal and external customer needs.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members and other departments.
