Royal Mail is the UK's most trusted letters and parcels delivery company. We are dedicated to connecting people and businesses across the country. We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Van Driver to join our team and help us deliver excellent service to our customers.
Job DescriptionAs a Van Driver for Royal Mail, you will be responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of letters and parcels. This role requires a high level of professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to customer service.
Key Responsibilities

• Daily Deliveries: Collect and deliver letters and parcels to various addresses in a timely manner.
• Route Planning: Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivery to ensure all items are delivered on time.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure the van is in good working condition and report any issues to the maintenance team.
• Customer Service: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring a positive delivery experience.
• Documentation: Accurately complete all necessary delivery and collection documentation.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and Royal Mail policies to ensure safe driving practices.
• Schedule: Work Monday to Friday, including weekends, from 08:00 to 14:00.

Qualifications

• Driving License: Valid UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Experience: Previous experience as a van driver, preferably within a delivery or logistics environment.
• Reliability: Strong track record of punctuality and reliability.
• Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Physical Fitness: Good physical condition to handle the demands of loading and unloading parcels.
• Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to plan and manage time efficiently.
