Job DescriptionAs a Van Driver for Royal Mail, you will be responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of letters and parcels. This role requires a high level of professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Deliveries: Collect and deliver letters and parcels to various addresses in a timely manner.
- Route Planning: Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivery to ensure all items are delivered on time.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure the van is in good working condition and report any issues to the maintenance team.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring a positive delivery experience.
- Documentation: Accurately complete all necessary delivery and collection documentation.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and Royal Mail policies to ensure safe driving practices.
- Schedule: Work Monday to Friday, including weekends, from 08:00 to 14:00.
- Driving License: Valid UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Experience: Previous experience as a van driver, preferably within a delivery or logistics environment.
- Reliability: Strong track record of punctuality and reliability.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Physical Fitness: Good physical condition to handle the demands of loading and unloading parcels.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to plan and manage time efficiently.
- Competitive hourly rate of £13.33phr
