Are you a skilled
Site Reliability Engineer with strong UNIX/Linux expertise and a passion for automation and infrastructure optimisation? Our client is looking for an experienced SRE to join a forward-thinking team on a
6-month contract, with the potential for extension. This role offers hybrid working, with a base in
Edinburgh.
You'll play a key role in supporting the migration to
RHEL 8/9, driving automation, and enhancing observability, performance, and resilience across infrastructure and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Support deployment and migration of services to RHEL 8/9
- Develop and enhance automation for disaster recovery activities
- Provide support for existing and new UNIX infrastructure
- Optimise existing systems and services for better performance and efficiency
- Deploy and support Ansible Automation Platform
- Manage and support Oracle Database 19c on Oracle Linux using KVM
- Maintain logging and observability stacks, including time-series databases
- Promote SLO/SLI tracking and measurement
- Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure
- Engage with external teams, providing guidance on platform/service consumption
Key Skills & Experience Required

RHEL 7/8/9 system administration β
Red Hat Satellite administration
β
Strong understanding of
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles

Scripting skills β
Bash, Perl β
Experience with
HAProxy,
keepalived, and other load balancing tools

Expertise in
Docker, container runtimes, and
Kubernetes/OpenShift environments
β
Experience in
CI/CD environments β Git, Git runners, Ansible Automation Platform
β
Monitoring & Observability:
- Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch
- Time Series Databases β InfluxDB
- Full stack admin: TICK, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Fluentd
