Job Title: Security Officer
Location: London Borough of Harrow - Forward Drive, Harrow, Middlesex, HA3 8NT, and surrounding areas
Duration: Temporary - ongoing
Salary: £14.47 PAYE per hour
Hours of work: 12- 40 hours per week
Role Overview:The London Borough of Harrow is recruiting for a responsible Security Officer to join their team. This role involves monitoring access points, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, and enforcing security procedures to prevent unauthorized activities or breaches.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain a visible security presence to deter potential risks
- Monitor and control access points, checking IDs or passes as required
- Conduct routine patrols to identify security concerns or hazards
- Respond swiftly to security incidents, emergencies, or suspicious activity
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing security policies
- Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary
- Prepare incident reports and maintain security documentation
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Required Skills & Experience:- Proven experience in security or a related field
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) badge or equivalent qualification
- Physical fitness for patrolling and emergency response duties
Work Environment:- Location-specific, may involve working across different sites
- Shift-based work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Requires adaptability and quick response to security concerns
