Overview of Principal Private Sector Housing Officer:
The London Borough of Harrow is looking for a skilled and committed Principal Private Sector Housing Officer to join their team on an agency basis. This critical role focuses on assisting the Council in fulfilling its statutory duties related to environmental protection and public safety. The position offers an attractive hourly rate of £24.03 (PAYE), negotiable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform enforcement duties to help the Council meet statutory obligations for environmental protection, including inspections, enforcement actions, education, and advice.
• Act as a frontline representative of Harrow Council in a customer-facing enforcement role, often managing challenging situations.
• Split work activities between 25%-40% office-based tasks and 60%-75% site visits within Harrow, utilizing appropriate equipment.
• Collaborate within the Enforcement team to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and Council policies and procedures.
• Represent the Council as an authorised Officer, working collaboratively with internal and external partners to promote public safety and well-being through education and partnership.
