Job Description
Location: St Leonards-on-Sea
Hours: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Our engineering client is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Turner to join their precision manufacturing team. This role involves programming (preferred but not essential), setting and operating CNC lathes producing high-quality components in a range of specialist materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming (where applicable), setting and operating CNC sliding-head and multi-axis fixed-head lathes
- Producing precision components from stainless steel, aluminium and exotic metals
- Machining bar diameters ranging from approximately 1mm to 200mm
- Interpreting engineering drawings and ensuring strict quality standards
- Optimising machining processes for efficiency and accuracy
- Maintaining safe working practices and equipment care
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven CNC turning experience in a precision engineering environment
- Strong setting and operating capability; programming experience advantageous
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls highly desirable
- Experience working with a variety of metals including stainless steel, aluminium and exotic alloys
- Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances
- Reliable, detail-focused team player with good problem-solving skills
