Job Description

We’re undertaking a major digital transformation - modernising the core platforms that power how we operate, communicate, and serve millions of customers every day. To deliver this change, we’re looking for five experienced and strategic Product Owners to take ownership of four business-critical products. These are high-profile roles at the heart of our transformation journey, shaping the tools and systems that support operational excellence, enable smarter decision-making, and deliver outstanding customer experiences at scale.

Each Product Owner will lead a dedicated product domain:
  1. SAP CRM Replacement – Complaints & Mass Communications
Delivering a modernised solution to manage end-to-end operational complaints, large-scale mass communications during incidents or outages, and regulated customer payments. This product underpins how we communicate with customers at scale and ensures compliance with regulatory service standards.
  2. Finance & Commercial (F&C) Product
Acting as the strategic bridge between Finance, Commercial, and Digital teams, this product ensures financial and commercial requirements are fully embedded across our operational platforms. It supports accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and improved commercial decision-making.
  3. Field Operations Product – Water Production & Field Operations Product - Wastewater Treatment
Focused on transforming the experience for field users, this product aims to minimise time spent interacting with mobile apps, maximise productivity, and ensure high-quality data capture to support smarter operational planning and asset investment.
  4. Planning & Scheduling Product
Enabling our back-office teams to raise, plan, and schedule jobs efficiently, this product is central to coordinating operational activities, optimising resources, and ensuring timely delivery for customers.
What you’ll be doing as a Product Owner
  • Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for your product domain.
  • Act as the voice of the business and end users, translating complex needs into clear, prioritised backlogs and actionable user stories.
  • Collaborate closely with digital teams, business stakeholders, and delivery squads to develop and deploy scalable, user-centric solutions.
  • Use agile methodologies to deliver value continuously, measure impact, and adjust priorities based on business outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships across operational, commercial, and technology teams to drive alignment and engagement.
  • Champion the product, ensuring it meets business objectives, regulatory standards, and delivers measurable benefits.
Base location: Reading or Swindon, with around 50% of your time spent in the office
What you should bring to the role
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst delivering complex digital or operational transformation programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of Workforce Management and CRM products such as Salesforce, SAP, Maximo or ServiceNow.
  • SAP CRM experience is highly beneficial, particularly for the Complaints & Mass Communications product.
  • Strategic thinker able to shape product vision and roadmaps, manage competing priorities, and work effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of agile delivery, including backlog management, user stories, acceptance criteria, and cross-functional delivery practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and explain complex prioritisation clearly.
  • Relevant domain experience such as Workforce Management, Finance & Commercial processes, or customer communications and complaints handling, depending on the product.
What’s in it for you?
  • This role will be paid up to £70,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience
  • Annual leave 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service (plus bank holidays)
  • Generous Pension Scheme through AON
  • Access to lots of benefits to help you take care of you and your family’s health and wellbeing, and your finances – from annual health MOTs and access to physiotherapy and counselling, to Cycle to Work schemes, shopping vouchers and life assurance.
