Job Description

This is a 10-12 month fixed-term opportunity to join the Asset Health & Performance Team, where you will define and promote short-, medium-, and long-term asset management plans for our critical assets. The plans will be based on a comprehensive bottom-up risk analysis of critical asset cohorts and determining investment priorities using risk thresholds to prioritise the asset base.

This prioritisation is then used to develop intervention options and preferred solutions. These plans will inform ongoing activity in AMP8, and our multi-£billion PR29 and Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan (DWMP) submissions.

What you’ll be doing as a Critical Assets Lead
You will work closely with the water and wastewater asset planning, sponsorship and operational planning teams to ensure that plans for critical assets are grounded in the operational realities and reflect the current business priorities.

Key responsibilities:
  • Development of critical asset health investment cases for PR29 and the Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan (DWMP).
  • Comprehensive risk appraisals of asset cohorts to provide inputs and insights.
  • Prepare risk reports in accordance with the company’s safety-critical asset risk management procedures and improve the management and reporting of critical assets.
  • Review of delivery and benefit of asset management programmes against the intention of the plan.
  • Work across the business to develop an improved understanding of asset health and align with the Asset Health framework. Embed learning to drive continual improvement in our long-term Critical Asset Management Plans.
  • Ongoing support to the PR24 Asset Health Improvement gated allowance.
  • Management responsibilities for a team of professionals and ensuring appropriate SME support from the team to help develop the asset health insights dashboard for critical assets.
  • Documentation of our critical asset management processes.
Base location: Hybrid - Clearwater Court - RG1 8DB
Working pattern or hours: 36 Mon-Fri
