As part of the Flow and Event Duration and Monitoring (EDM) team, you will help to ensure that the Company has all the necessary flow and EDM monitoring needed by environmental statutory requirements, and that data is accurate, reliable, and readily available. You will also make sure that MCERTS certification requirements are met, documents are kept up-to-date, and any actions identified are tracked through to completion.
Acting as a subject matter expert for Flow and EDM compliance, you will support the business by answering technical queries, attending key working groups and ensuring relevant information is interpreted and disseminated to the business.
What you’ll be doing as an Environmental Data Specialist- Analysing and interrogating Flow and EDM data to look for trends, abnormalities, and inaccuracies.
- Ensuring Flow and EDM data is accessible, up to date, and communicated across the business.
- Validating data with operational colleagues to ensure accuracy.
- Producing reports to inform compliance-related activities, as and when required.
- Support with the ongoing delivery of processes within our MCERT Quality Management System (QMS).
- Building strong working relationships across business units, including operations, asset management, engineering, and strategy & regulation.
- Responding to stakeholder requests for data and understanding the context of this data and what it means for our compliance position.
What you should bring to the role- A high level of attention to detail and the ability to analyse and interpret data.
- Experienced in dealing with large data sets, performing data quality checks, and looking for trends
- Experience reviewing reports, capturing, and assigning improvement actions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Proficient in the use of software packages (MS Office & Excel, PowerBI).
- Experience in an environmental discipline, for example, flow and EDM, environmental permitting or environmental compliance, is desirable.
- Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a scientific or environmental discipline is preferred.
