About the Role We are looking for a motivated IT Configuration Technician to join our growing configuration team in Rugby. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment preparing IT equipment for customers, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard and in line with agreed service levels.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in IT, great attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Asset tagging customer IT equipment
- Hardware upgrades on desktops, laptops, and servers
- Applying customer images to machines
- Preparing and packaging equipment securely for delivery
- Removing and disposing of packaging safely
- Supporting intermediate-level engineers when required
- Updating and maintaining basic spreadsheets
- Logging data accurately using internal systems
- Carrying out general configuration tasks as directed by the leadership team
- Experience in a similar IT or warehouse environment (desirable but not essential)
- Basic understanding of SLAs and the importance of meeting deadlines
- Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with installing Windows operating systems (desirable)
- GCSEs in English and Maths preferred
- Basic warehousing experience is an advantage
- Strong interest in IT and technology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physically fit, as the role involves manual handling
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Quick learner with the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Reliable, professional, and honest
- Flexible to work overtime when required
- Passionate about continuous improvement and efficiency
