We have an opportunity for you to join as a Senior Outage Planner at Thames Water!You will be leading the strategic planning of all planned outages across Waste and BioResources – managing the planning, availability and ongoing monitoring of processing capacity across the whole bioresources system; balancing safety, cost, compliance and operational needs as well as overseeing the delivery of all associated statutory inspections, capital maintenance activities and asset enhancements.
The overarching aim of the role is to deliver a step change in the effective and successful management of outages across Waste and BioResource assets against a backdrop of a significant increase in the size and complexity of the overall outage programme. (regulatory, statutory and operational)
The role will work collaboratively with senior stakeholders across Waste, BioResources, Asset Planning, Engineering, Capital Delivery, CMP, R&L, Finaance and others to ensure effective management of all planned outages.

What will you be doing as a Senior Outage Planner- Delivery of successful outage management programme on all Waste and BioResource assets against a backdrop of a significant increase to the size and complexity of the outage programme (regulatory, statutory and operational). Success is to be measured by cost, time, quality and effective overall capacity utilisation across the whole of the AMP delivery cycle.
- Engage with and develop a high performing network at all levels within Waste and BioResources and other parts of AOCD ensuring successful delivery of outage programme.
- Ensure that the outage programme is agile and able to respond to changes in operational or capital delivery circumstances – ensuring continued availability of (sludge) processing capacity in line with ongoing business demands whilst maximising the efficiency of the operational performance and capital programmes.
- Lead all engagement on behalf of Waste and BioResources with senior stakeholders from across Thames Water and with external delivery supply chain where applicable to enable successful outcome from all outages activity. Liaise and engage with external regulatory agencies as/where necessary.
- Work with all levels within Waste Operations to improve site engagement and develop and deliver a successful outage programme that meets the needs of Thames Water and its key stakeholders.
- Responsible for project planning stage, ensuring dependencies are in place and assumptions achievable to meet the planned outage requirements.
- Work with key stakeholders such as Asset Management, CMP, CD and System Ops to develop long term outage plan.
- As the owner of the Waste and BioResources Outage programme, identify, predict and address all risks and issues well before they become blockers for the programme – enabling the continued smooth operation of Waste Treatment and delivery of associated capital programmes.
- Develop outage plans with key stakeholders to ensure H&S compliance is maintained throughout the programme.
- Lead Communications with external stakeholders, Corporate Affairs, and social media on all outage-related issues.
- Lead and develop a supportive learning environment that transparently identifies and develops improved practices and processes through each outage activity.

- Ability to work flexibly when required – most projects are site-based and you will be required to travel across the region estate.
- Driving licence essential.
