Job Description

We are looking to recruit two Operations Capital Programme Managers to oversee capital programmes in either of our Thames Valley or Home Counties wastewater regions.

Reporting directly into Thames Water’s Head of Region you will oversee all delivery of capital works on sewage treatment sites, our networks and pumping stations. 

What you’ll be doing as an Operations Capital Programme Manager
  • Work closely and collaboratively with key operations and business stakeholders to manage the region’s capital risks from identification through to delivery of the project.
  • Project liaison between our Capital Delivery and Operations teams, and our project partners.
  • Responsible for managing the directly managed capital works, minor capital works and health and safety capital allocation budgets for the region.
  • Identify gaps between current, medium and long-term investment requirements and developing investment proposals.
  • Identification, development, acceptance and implementation of solutions for larger investment schemes which deliver the required benefits across the AMP.

  • This is a hybrid role with a flexible base location and will involve travel across region as required.
  • Working pattern or hours is 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
What you should bring to the role 
  • Experience successfully managing and delivering large asset infrastructure programmes.
  • Have experience of asset infrastructure management from a utilities industry, large-scale construction, engineering or similar operations industry.
  • Be financially and commercially astute with demonstrable ability to manage to budget and to drive local accountability for cost control.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with demonstrable ability to engage a wide range of internal (across business units) and external stakeholders.
  • A passion for health and safety and strong focus on the how you work affects the environment.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and effectively communicate data and information to drive performance.
