Job Description

Thames Water is looking for a Field Investigations Analyst to join our busy Smart Metering team in Langley, Slough.

What you will be doing as the Field Investigation Analyst: In this role you will be working as part of the Smart Metering Operation Centre (SMOC) to deliver analysis on numerous points of interest (POIs) related to our meters. This role requires a passion for data and will revolve around analysing, raising, and tracking POI including stale meters (meters that have not sent reads for 7+ consecutive days) and meters with intermittent or zero reads.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Analyse and track required field investigations and work with all parties involved to provide an effective end-to-end process from identification to resolution.
  • Provide reports and presentations, collect and analyse the POIs raised and develop more effective ways to identify these in the future. This will include sourcing and maintaining data as a resource for future reference.
  • Provide analysis and commentary to enable the SMOC and the operational workforce to make informed business decisions on the next steps for resolution.
  • Analyze to determine high usage and potentially shared supplies and coordinate the investigation with relevant teams.
  • Co-ordinate and lead on briefed projects and activities.

 What you should bring to the role:
  • Have strong Excel and data manipulation skills with experience in reporting tools such as SQL, Power BI and other data tools.
  • Ability to analyse trends and patterns, and be able to report on these.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy is crucial as this role involves working with large sets of data.
  • Driving improvements and utilising Power BI and other databases or tools to find the right solution.
  • Owning issues and tickets until resolved and ensuring that key responsibilities are continually met.

Base Location: Hybrid - Worcester House, Langley SL3 6EY.

Hours: 36 hours per week.
