We are looking for a Thermal Hydrolysis Process (THP) Controller to join Thames Water permanently.
This is an exciting role where you will be working as part of the thermal hydrolysis process team, a key part of the site’s day-to-day operation and hugely important for maximising green power generation using THP, CHP and Boiler plant on site.

What you will be doing as a Thermal Hydrolysis Process (THP) Controller?- To make sure the health, safety and well-being of employees and other affected persons is a top priority.
- Visual inspection of key areas and in-line monitor checking/calibrating.
- Monitoring, interpretation, collating and reporting of analysis data to ensure the correct process operation, and to meet statutory and regulatory Thames Water compliance requirements.
- Operation of plant and equipment, ensuring continuous operation of THP and associated plants and processes to maximise power throughout.
- Interact with our internal and external customers, peers & colleagues in a professional, committed, respectful, efficient, and polite manner.
- Conducting site inductions and working with Thames Water’s perimetry system.
- Undertake safety, security, and housekeeping checks.
- Fault finding, reviewing trends and data gathering from SCADA.
- Chemical stock management.
- Maintaining site security.
- Assist the management team in conducting day-to-day operational needs.
- Be willing to provide cover for the process controller on shift at short notice.
What should you bring to the role?- Previous experience of working within the sewage treatment process or in other process-orientated roles would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of the process industry plant such as pumps, centrifuges, and boilers (good understanding of combustion, steam generation & heat transfer) would be an advantage.
- Flexibility, ability, and willingness to learn.
- Process Operation experience would be beneficial.
- Minimum city and guilds level 2/3 in a mechanical/electrical/chemical discipline.
- Previous SCADA experience.
- Use of e-mail and Excel.
- Due to the nature of the role a FULL UK Driving licence is required.
