We are seeking a
Business Integrity Investigator who will be responsible for investigating unethical behaviour and other dishonest activity that affects Thames Water. You will collect evidence and intelligence on events using appropriate guidelines and procedures to enable presentation to a civil or criminal standard.
This is a unique, exciting and challenging role, reporting directly into our Head of Business Integrity & Investigations. You will be performing a critical role as a member of our highly professional and supportive Risk, Audit and Assurance team.
This varied role deals with internal and external investigations and provides you with good exposure to many areas of the business. Liaising effectively with a wide range of people, including senior management, local authorities, other water companies, law enforcement and the general public.
What you will be doing as Business Integrity Investigator- Conducting investigations of alleged fraud, dishonesty and ethical matters arising from the
Speak Up reports, the pro-active programme or allocation by the Head of Business Integrity. - Responding to incidents across the Thames Water region identifying cases where
investigations may lead to a successful outcome. - Investigating and interviewing contractors in their own environment.
- Interviewing employees and gathering evidence under challenging circumstances while
representing Thames Water in a professional manner. - Preparing lengthy and complex reports and statements in support of civil and criminal
investigations on occasion presenting at court and internal hearings. - Conducting detailed analysis of company data to provide evidence to support investigations.
- Conducting open-source investigations and facilitating some authorised covert activities.
This is a hybrid role with travel to sites when requiredWhat you should bring to the roleSome experience in
conducting sensitive and complex investigations and have knowledge of the
Police and Criminal Evidence Act, RIPA, PIDA and other relevant legislation.
Knowledge of
investigation methodologies, and experience of conductinginterviews in line with the PEACE model.Ability to write complex, lengthy reports, Section 9 statements, and
disciplinary management packs.
Self-motivated and organised individual with an analytical mind-set and
excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to quickly learn and use all internal and external investigation tools to a high level and good Excel skills are essential.
Strong knowledge of open-source investigation methods.Proven communication skills are vital with a law enforcement background desirable.
