We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Operations Specialist to join our waste division at Mogden STW. You will play a key role in conducting field investigations into complex operational challenges, making impactful financial decisions within the wastewater network, and identifying proactive solutions to improve efficiency, environmental impact, and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll be doing as the Field Operations Specialist- Ensuring compliance with company health and safety standards and following street works legislation.
- Coordinating complex planned and reactive technical activities to achieve maximum effectiveness while minimising customer impact.
- Making informed technical decisions primarily focusing on network stability, customer satisfaction, and cost efficiency.
- Acting as the key liaison between field teams, control teams, and area network managers, ensuring seamless coordination for unplanned work and operational events.
- Collaborating with integrated planning teams to provide insights into required network maintenance and technical improvements.
- Working alongside field teams and the customer management function to identify and resolve complex flow and pressure issues.
- Logging accurate, detailed job work orders into work management systems.
- Providing information to the Performance, Risk, and Optimization Team, supporting contingency planning and network resilience strategies.
- Taking personal ownership of customer concerns, responding to queries and resolving issues promptly and empathetically.
- Contributing to the business unit’s financial, environmental, and operational performance goals.
Base location: Mogden STW catchment area.
Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday–Friday (typically 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM).
What you should bring to the roleWe are seeking individuals from diverse backgrounds who share our passion for innovation, customer care, and operational excellence. To succeed in this role, you should bring:
- A working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- An interest in taking responsibility for optimizing efficiency in a designated area.
- Good problem-solving skills, coupled with a proactive and hands-on approach to challenges.
- IT proficiency, particularly in work management systems.
- Experience with wastewater network systems (desirable, but not essential).
- Strong business and stakeholder awareness with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and cost management.
- A commitment to teamwork and a willingness to engage in constructive problem-solving discussions.
- A full UK driving license and a willingness to travel within the assigned region.
