Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Area Service Coordinator to join Thames Water on a permanent basis.

The role of the Area Services Coordinator is crucial for maintaining the asset, maintenance, and site services in the Mole and Wey area, encompassing 30 sites. These sites play a vital role in ensuring the overall compliance of our organization and meeting our regulatory obligations.
  • Location – You will travel between sites - Chertsey - KT16 0AR, Crawley - RH10 3NW. Earlswood - Redhill - RH1 5HE, Hockford (STW) - GU24 0DE.
  • 36 hours per week Monday – Friday.
  • Offering a salary up to £40,000 depending on skills and experience.

What you will be doing as an Area Service Coordinator
  • Manage site documentation, including the "red folders", ensuring site registers, logbooks, risk assessments and site plans are up to date and maintained.
  • Complete 5 yearly non-complex fire risk assessments for all non-complex buildings.
  • Maintain COSHH inventory for each Performance Manager base location and ensure COSHH risk assessments are in place.
  • Management of site facilities, providing support to the site Controller of Premises in order that welfare and general facilities are maintained to an adequate level.
  • Demonstrate commitment to site health and safety by regularly reporting safety observations on Safeguard and taking action to resolve health and safety issues on site.
  • Completion of legionella and asbestos audits.
  • Legionella risk assessment. (including checking of the records for monthly, six monthly and annual inspections are being completed)
  • Fire logbooks. (including conducting 6 monthly drills, and the checking of the entire contents of the log book – alarm tests, fire extinguishers inspections. (monthly and annual) emergency lighting checks, plus the reporting and monitoring of defects)
  • Lead lifting, pressure vessels, LEV’s, chemical tank and fuel tank inspections as determined by inspection dates, and progress actions.
  • Liaising with our contractors and suppliers to deliver solutions to problems on our sites.

 What you should bring to the role:
  • An established relevant business or technical experience, possibly in operations.
  • Good communication skills and proactive approach.
  • Experience in managing Health and Safety and completing audits.
  • Good understanding of customer expectations.
  • An awareness of business procedures and processes.
  • Ability to liaise at all levels and influence beyond the span of control.
  • High attention to detail.
  • A full current driving license is essential for this position as you will be driving between sites.
