Job Description

Working as part of a team, this role is responsible for maintaining the sewer network asset availability by coordinating repair activities and inspection programmes.  The role is key to delivering effective repairs, inspections, and planned maintenance by managing internal and external stakeholders.

The role provides a variety of challenges on a daily basis, but also allows the successful candidate to either learn or further develop their skills in relation to health and safety, leadership, maintenance and project management. 

This role is part of a team leading significant investment projects in our infrastructure, with large capital schemes being delivered across the area and is part of the future operation of the Tideway Tunnel, which is a significant investment project to protect the river Thames.

Your area will cover the whole of North East London working on Thames Water’s largest and oldest trunk sewers and Victorian pumping stations. Your day-to-day work will involve working with the in-house Operations team, specialist contractors and major projects teams including the Thames Tideway Tunnel.

 What you’ll be doing as a Project Coordinator
  • Planning activities to deliver repairs, inspections and maintenance on the trunk sewer network and below ground assets
  • You will also use your expertise to plan in complex works safely and resolve long standing and reactive issues
  • Performance managing contractors to complete repairs and maintenance on our assets within budgetary and time constraints, as well as promoting a culture of continuous improvement and modelling the Thames Water values at all times
  • Managing the Health and Safety of the activities for internal and external stakeholders
  • Optimising the network to improve maintenance activities, flow, electricity usage and environment
  • To be a key stakeholder in the capital delivery programmes for the network
  • Managing programmes for statutory inspections
Base Location: Wick Lane Depot in Stratford, Bow, East London – E3 2NA
Working Pattern or hours: 36 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Necessary requirements for the role: Full clean UK driving licence

What you should bring to the role
  • Experience in managing projects or planned activities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety
  • A hands-on approach and a willingness to travel and visit various sites
  • The desire to make a difference and role model the Thames Water Values
  • Good understanding of Confined Space access (Regulations)
  • Trunk Sewer network and strategic pumping knowledge (Advantageous)
  • Full valid UK driving license
