About the role:

This is a new and exciting role created to have the responsibility to develop and implement the Thames Water leakage detection strategy.
It is a high-profile role designed to enable our leakage performance commitments to be met and to be delivered in the most efficient and effective way.

You will have the opportunity to work with the recently formed Transformation Team wider Senior Leadership Team and internal sponsors to establish the future vision for leakage and the future commercial implications for the whole business.

This is an opportunity to work in a challenging but highly rewarding role within Thames Water. And being part of our significant business transformation as part of its Turnaround Plan that spans all areas of the organisation, you will be instrumental in motivating, steering and overseeing a changing organisation.

What you’ll be doing as Operational Leakage Strategy Manager
  • Design and development of a robust improved and sustainable end-to-end leakage strategy.
  • Creation of transformational and tactical plans to convert the strategy into workable delivery programmes.
  • Working with senior stakeholders in the business, ensuring critical business initiatives are well defined, justified, successfully managed and delivered.
  • You will be required to provide support and challenge to ensure the delivery of the desired outcomes.
  • Playing a leading role in engaging the executive sponsor regarding additional scope changes or requirements.
  • Create a long-term leakage reduction roadmap that credibly achieves the company’s leakage reduction ambitions by 2030 through 2050.
  • Supporting the development of current and future annual delivery plans and budgets as they relate to leakage delivery.
  • Representing the company at external events and conferences. 

Base location: This is a hybrid role, and your base location can be flexible within the Thames Water area of operations.

Hours: 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

What you should bring to the role:
  • Significant experience in management and influencing roles in an Energy or Utilities industry, specifically in water and leakage management.
  • Be a commercially astute, strategic-thinking manager with experience and the ability to create and transform ideas and projects into practical operational plans.
  • Have a collaborative management style which brings teams together in a regulated and safe environment.
  • A proven track record of effective performance, continuous improvement and change management through positive stakeholder relationships.
  • Be willing to take calculated risks and be comfortable operating under pressure.
  • Be able to demonstrate the importance of health & safety in an operations environment.
  • Have a UK driver’s licence and be prepared to travel around the Thames Water region.
