Sheridan Maine is delighted to be partnering with a successful and expanding international organisation to recruit a Financial Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, hands-on finance professional with fluency in Spanish to play a key role within a dynamic and growing group.
 
Responsibilities of the Financial Controller include:
  • Take ownership of day-to-day finance operations across a portfolio of international entities, covering accounting, tax, and financial reporting.
  • Lead month-end reporting, producing accurate financials with insightful commentary and timely balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Partner with HR to process and report payroll, ensuring compliance with tax and pension requirements.
  • Oversee VAT and other local tax obligations, working closely with external advisors.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Maintain an accurate fixed asset register and support project teams on construction and capital expenditure reporting.
  • Provide financial support to operational teams and senior management.
  • Liaise with auditors and external accountants to ensure statutory accounts and filings are delivered on time.
  • Manage banking platforms, ensuring strong controls around payments and cash management.
  • Mentor and support junior finance team members.
 
The successful Financial Controller will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.
  • Multi-lingual (Spanish/English speaking); Dutch or French speaking would be an advantage.
  • Experience within an international, multi-entity environment.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting standards and multi-currency accounting.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring team members.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
