Seeking a skilled and proactive Financial Controller on a 14 month contract, to oversee and manage financial operations and reporting within a UK entity. This role involves close collaboration with senior management and the finance team to ensure that financial activities align with strategic objectives and adhere to all relevant regulations and standards. The successful candidate will provide insightful analysis and recommendations to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and reporting.
- Supervise and support day-to-day finance operations, including bookkeeping, invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and payroll.
- Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other stakeholders.
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and process improvements to drive efficiency.
- Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Prepare monthly management accounts under US GAAP and annual statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 102.
- Manage and mentor two direct reports, fostering a high-performance finance team.
Skills and Competencies:- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, management reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience in developing and supporting finance team members.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Location and Working Arrangement:- Based in Stourbridge, UK.
- Hybrid working available (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
