Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a highly regarded organisation in Aston, West Midlands, to recruit a Cost and Management Accountant. This role offers the chance to join a forward-thinking business, taking on a pivotal position that will contribute to financial reporting, operational performance, and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities of the Cost and Management Accountant include:- Maintain the integrity of the Bill of Materials and ensure accurate costing processes.
- Calculate annual standard/predicted costs and analyse the impact of changes on group results.
- Apply a deep understanding of costing mechanisms, implementing improvements when necessary.
- Conduct thorough monthly variance analysis, assessing its effect on margins.
- Develop robust processes and controls to capture all costs accurately as part of month-end reporting.
- Reconcile relevant balance sheet accounts monthly.
- Analyse key performance drivers within the department and across the organisation to add value.
- Assist the Financial Controller and senior management team with the production of financial reports, business planning, quarterly forecasts and supporting decision-making processes.
- Assist with ad hoc projects, providing analysis and support where required.
- Deputise for the Financial Controller and cover for Finance Managers during their absence.
The successful Cost and Management Accountant:- ACCA/ CIMA Qualified, Part Qualified or QBE
- Deep understanding of product costing in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings effectively.
- A proactive approach to understanding the business operations, process improvements and operational efficiencies.
This is a plant based role requiring presence on site 5 days per week.
