Assistant Accountant

Sheridan Maine is excited to partner with a well known and thriving client based in Southampton to recruit for an Assistant Accountant. 
 
Joining a welcoming and supportive team environment within the finance department, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in transactional finance.  Study support is available for the successful candidate.
 
As the Assistant Accountant, key responsibilities will include:   

• Preparing key information for the monthly management accounts pack.
• Month end accounts and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Bank account reconciliation.
• Assisting with sales & purchase ledger when required.
• Reconcile payments and resolve queries.
• Prepayments.
• Assist with VAT returns.

 
Skills and experience we’re looking for: 

• AAT qualified or working towards the qualification.
• Proven working experience in accounting and finance.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
• Motivated and excels in a fast-paced environment.
• Driven to meet deadlines and targets, demonstrating a strong desire to succeed.
• Intermediate Excel skills for effective data management.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
