Exciting opportunity alert! Seeking a Modelling Manager to lead our Wastewater network and process models, influencing strategy and planning through crucial Asset Information. Join us in establishing a modelling centre of excellence, enhancing capabilities, and driving informed decision-making. This role will play a vital part in our AMP8 investment plan: develop, manage and implement a resource plan to meet modelling demand for the next five years (2025 -30).

This role is a fixed-term contract for Maternity Cover

What you’ll be doing as a Wastewater Modelling Manager
  • Identify and set out the scope of wastewater modelling requirements, such as the most appropriate type of model and the systems to be modelled.
  • Work with others to identify and adopt innovative modelling techniques and to implement industry best practices.
  • Using hydraulic and process models and working with colleagues, we can identify regional and system risks and where we need to make our asset base more resilient.
  • Understand the longer-term requirements of our customers, stakeholders, and regulators and any gaps between these and our current performance, sharing the output with strategy and planning colleagues.
  • Work with Operational teams to understand key medium to longer-term needs.
  • Work with external stakeholders and partners to gain insight into co-creating modelling opportunities that meet multi-agency needs.

This role will be based at Hybrid–Reading Sewage Treatment works; you will be required to work on-site or at the office 2-3 days a week.

36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

What you should bring to the role
  • Hold an engineering, environmental or asset management degree or previous work-related background.
  • Understanding of wastewater modelling practices and how to develop innovative techniques.
  • Confident to communicate with all levels of external and internal stakeholders.
  • Understanding Wastewater systems and external factors can have an impact.
  • People management exposure.
  • Able to build and develop projects against business objectives.
