Job Description

This is a new and exciting role which will be reporting directly to the Head of Leakage whilst working collaboratively to provide true visibility of the overall leakage performance with Thames Water.

You will develop and implement the Thames Water leakage detection strategy that enables leakage performance commitments to be met and delivered most efficiently and effectively.

You will be required to provide support and challenge to ensure the delivery of the desired outcomes.

What you’ll be doing as Operational Leakage Delivery Manager
  • Management of the Regional Leakage teams across North and South London, and the Thames Valley and line management of the Leakage Optimisation Managers.
  • Deliver the In-Year & In-Amp Leakage detection strategy, working in collaboration with key internal stakeholders including Asset Management, Water Network Field, Network Asset Maintenance and System Operations.
  • Oversee the implementation, continuous delivery and improvement of Thames Water’s Health & Safety policies and ensure the safety and wellbeing of the leakage team.
  • Development and implementation of a People Strategy including talent development, succession planning, employee engagement and regular performance reviews.
  • Management and reporting of financial performance and development of annual budget. 

Base location: This is a hybrid role, and your base location can be flexible within the Thames Water area of operations.

Hours: 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday

What you should bring to the role:
  • Be a commercially astute operations manager with experience bringing together multiple front-line teams across a large organisation.
  • With the experience outlined above, ideally you will have a background in a utility industry (water/gas/electric), telecommunications or maybe ex-military.
  • Previous leakage and water network experience and knowledge would be ideal but not essential.
  • A self-starter with the ability to engage and work collaboratively across all areas of the business with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate the importance of health & safety in an operations environment.
  • Have a UK driver's licence and be prepared to travel around the Thames Water region.
